Peoria 2008 Testimonies

Steve - Manchester, IA

"I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."

- Luke 15:7 (NIV)

Thank you for all the work you do to keep these events going. This is my third event and it was laid on my heart to bring men to Christ so that they could experience PK the way I have. One of these men was my oldest son of 27 years. He was my prodical son. It was after the event that we were down by the Illinois River talking about life, death, future and eternity. It was there that he surrendered to the Lord.

We gathered our band of brothers and he (my son) publicly turned his life over to the Lord in this circle of believers. I have had proud moments in my life, but this is probably the proudest moment for me. Knowing that I now have all eternity to be with my son. We anointed him with oil and laid hands upon him and prayers of thanksgiving were brought forth to the Lord.

So don't let the devil tell you that your work is in vain. The Lord has just snatched another soul from the grasp of the devil and he "ain't" happy. One more for the Lord and one less for the devil. Thanks be to God!!

I just wanted to let you know how much the guys from my church (St. Peter’s Lutheran, East Peoria, IL) and I enjoyed Manhood ’08 the last couple days in Peoria.  We have been attending events since before Stand in the Gap, and I have to tell you the last couple left most of us shaking our heads (we just didn’t connect).  Manhood ’08 on the other hand, left us all excited and energized just like the conferences we enjoyed before.  Starting with Don Davis, an excellent leader, and including Stephen Newby and the band (loud but intelligible and featuring great sing-along songs), we started with a very positive attitude.  The speakers were great, I especially enjoyed Mike Silva, Samuel Rodriguez and Dan Seaborn.  The venue looked to be solidly two-thirds full both days; I can only hope this was okay financially for PK.   I believe, however, that as word gets out that the conference has returned to what many consider its heights of purpose, things will only get better next year.  Great job!

Bill - Hartford, IL

I just want to say thank you for the new and improved Promise Keepers conference.  I just returned from Peoria and it was very moving.  You went back to the old way of doing things – specifically, focusing more on the promotion of Jesus Christ.  I’ve been attending since 1995 and this is the first time in fours years that I have returned refreshed and spiritually filled.  The speakers were great.  Once again, thank you.  I will be attending future events.

We'd love to hear from you!  Submit your testimony...
