Promise Keepers Give Blood at '07 Events
Denver, Colo., June 14, 2007 – Promise Keepers (PK), the international ministry to men, continues to mobilize men for local impact at its 2007 conferences by hosting blood drives at four arenas this summer. Last year, Promise Keepers attendees donated 213 units of blood at PK events. On Friday afternoon before the two-day men’s conference kicks off at 6:30 p.m., local blood donations will be received at the arenas in Mobile, Ala., Nashville, Tenn., Orlando, Fla., and Columbia, S.C. Cities, venues, dates and times, and sponsoring organization websites are listed below:
“Promise Keepers is rallying men in 2007 to demonstrate their faith and their commitment to the community,” said Terrell Mayton, communications officer for Promise Keepers. “Donating blood is a very practical blessing to the Mobile community.”
“We hope that the opportunity to give blood will plant a seed in everyone’s mind that they can take home with them and continue to help save lives throughout the year,” said Jim Williams, manager of Communications for American Red Cross Missouri-Illinois Blood Services.
According to the Red Cross, someone in America needs life-saving blood or platelets every two seconds. The need for blood donations during the summer months is particularly high.
