Father's Day 2008 - Sermon Packages

Resources from Promise Keepers

Dear Pastors,

Thank you for placing emphasis on Father’s Day 2008, and seeking to minister to men in affirmation rather than the annual “wire brushing” that men dread for all their failures, real or imagined!

We want you to feel free to use any of these materials in the way that will assist you the best.

Some will choose to use a sequence for each of the Sundays from Mother’s Day, until and including Sunday, June 15, 2008.  Others will do only a message on the single day that develop the theme.  We would encourage you to get all the benefit from the season that you can for your guys.  As you regularly see in the media, poor old dad gets the short end of the stick often.  We want to affirm and lift the men and their roles, especially as fathers, in as many ways as possible.

We are expressing our appreciation to Mainstay Ministries for their partnership.  We also want to mention that some Pastors have chosen to use a theme from the lectionary that they relate to one of the Seven Promises, thus connecting to men and Father’s Day.

We are aware that some pastors are feeling uneasy about peoples’ attitudes about plagiarism of sermon material.  Please know that we have obtained and written this material to be used by you.  We hope that as you speak about and to men, you will mention Promise Keepers.  We would be happy if you shared that some of the material you were using came from Promise Keepers.

Video clips may or may not be used, and may be used in other places as determined by you.

We would very much like to hear a report from you of your experience this year and how we could serve you better in the future.

In Christ,

Gordon England
Director of Strategic Alliances

National Director of Field Ministry
