What is PK's position on women clergy?

As the fifth promise of a Promise Keeper states, "A Promise Keeper is committed to support the mission of his church by honoring and praying for his pastor and by actively giving his time and resources."

Since our inception in 1990, Promise Keepers has always had a very specific calling to the distinct service of men's ministry.  Our desire is to see every church have effective men's ministry by being a resource to our clergy and by coming alongside the local church.  In accordance with this, our overriding concern is not the gender of the pastor, but the state of a church's ministry to men.  We want to assist churches in learning more about the dynamics of leading men.

As a ministry to men we acknowledge the fact that all churches have men who attend, whether the leaders are male or female.  Further, the selection of a leader within a local church is the choice and sole responsibility of the church and denomination of which it is a part.

We do recognize that there is disagreement within the Church regarding women clergy and how women should serve.  A given person's attendance at any of our events should not be perceived as Promise Keepers' endorsement of all the teachings or interpretive biblical beliefs of the individual or the church they represent.
