Called Out

In 1991, Promise Keepers asked the question, “Where are the men?” The increasing rates of fatherlessness, abuse, absenteeism from church, and overall male passivism in spiritual things prompted the organization to call men together to worship Jesus Christ and to learn what a godly man is and how he thinks, lives, and relates to his Lord and others. Through these intervening years the impact has been immense. Now, twenty-one years later, this question can be asked more fervently through the lens of the Seven Promises: Where are the men? We are coming to 5 cities this year with this question: Orlando, FL. Cedar Falls, IA. Garland, TX. Cleveland, OH. San Diego, CA.
Where are the men … who are unashamed of their love and personal faith in Jesus Christ, who know His voice, and who are learning to live in the world but not be of the world?
Where are the men … who are no longer isolated but who are living life deeply and authentically connected with a few other brothers in Christ, knowing they need each other to remain faithful to God and those they love?
Where are the men … who are honest about their own battles and temptations and sincere in their pursuit of ethical, sexual, moral and spiritual integrity?
Where are the men … who champion their family, helping them thrive through the biblical values of love, respect, honor, patience, sacrifice, and service?
Where are the men … who love the body of Christ and who willingly offer their God-given talents and gifts to serve others and advance the mission of their church?
Where are the men … who champion the unity of God’s family and who are more passionate about God’s Kingdom than about their denomination or ethnicity?
Where are the men … who make it their sole aim in life to expand Christ’s Kingdom by demonstrating and sharing the love of God with other people in regularly and practically in daily life?
Once again Promise Keepers believes that it is time to return to that foundational message that is more applicable today than ever before. With biblical illiteracy at an all time high, Promise Keepers is calling men to lead the way back to the eternal truths of God’s word. The time is now! It’s time for men to be “called out” to be the godly men that we were created to be. Called out with a vision for what they can be. Called out with a vision of what can be accomplished through their unified commitment. Called out with the mission of what can be accomplished through their unified commitment. Called out with a hope for the future.
This year at Promise Keeper Conferences we are calling men out! We will inspire them through six power-packed messages by some of the nations leading speakers based upon Deuteronomy 6 and how it relates to PK’s Seven Promises.
The Message:
- We will begin each conference with a call to men to live a life of significance and purpose through surrender to Christ. Called Out!
- We will then call the men to not only be hearers of God’s word but doers. A Call to Duty!
- We will challenge men to live a life of nobility by living moral, ethical and sexually pure lives. A Call to Nobility!
- We will inspire and equip men to be leaders in their families by taking an active role in teaching and demonstrating God’s Word. A Call to Lead!
- We will then be calling the men out to give of their time, talents and treasure to the poor, needy and lost of the world to ultimately make a difference. A Call to Action!
- Finally, we will call men to courage by challenging them to stand against the things that divide us. To stand united as one with their brothers (Jew and Gentile) and demonstrate God’s love to one another and to the world around us. A Call To Courage!
